Our Story

Clayton Worth, inventor of the Bowla, developed the first Bowla hat shaped loaf of bread through an at home baking mishap. "After convinving my colleagues at work that this was a traditional 'top hat' loaf followed by their search for their own when visiting wales promted Bowla - A Bowl with A Roll concept" - Clayton Worth, Inventor of Bowla.

Rigorous trial and error of the Bowla baking method and recipe resulting in several Bowla baking mould prototypes lead to the final succesful prototype!

"In 2010, after two years of unsuccesful designs the project was shelved and revisiting in 2011 for a second attempt at new designs" - Clayton Worth, Inventor of Bowla.

The first working prototype created after years of fine tuning - the aluminium bowla baking mould capable of baking four Bowla Hat Shaped Loafs of Bread."Three moulds are designed for three sizes of ovens - large commercial, small commercial and domestic ovens." - Clayton Worth, Inventor of Bowla.

Hannah Worth joins the Bowla project whilst finishing her degree at Bristol University learning her father's vision for the company with the goal of taking the business a step further.

Channel 4 reach out to Bowla to appear on TV Show Aldi's Next Big Thing, a show focusing on showcasing emerging small businesses where the winner signs a contract with Aldi enabling their products to be sold in stores across the UK.

It was time for an upgrade where we introduced a seating area and went HARD with the branding!
